President Bola Tinubu Credit: Bayo Onanuga
A brief moment of disruption unfolded on Thursday in Kaduna State when a man broke through security as President Bola Tinubu addressed a gathering during an official commissioning in the state.
President Tinubu was in the state to inaugurate a number of projects executed by Governor Uba Sani’s administration, including a newly completed 300-bed Specialist Hospital and the rollout of 100 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses.
The disruption occurred mid-speech, when the man made an unexpected move towards the stage. The President appeared momentarily taken aback, pausing briefly as security operatives quickly intervened and restrained the individual.
In a composed response, President Tinubu simply remarked, “Leave him alone,” before continuing his address without allowing the incident to derail proceedings.
The state governor, Sani, also signalled the security, dousing the slight tension.
Meanwhile, in a post on X.com (formerly Twitter), Tinubu’s Senior Special Assistant on Digital/New Media, Otega Ogra, lauded the operatives for their conduct.
“Handled with utmost professionalism by secret service agents without any disruption to Mr President’s speech or the event,” he wrote in response to a user.
"FYI, Mr President is protected by some of the finest, well-trained and most professional officers and agents from our internal security, intelligence, and military institutions," he added. (Adapted from a Channels TV report)
