Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested eight suspects for their alleged involvement in several cult-related killings within the Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) in the state and its environs.

The command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed in a statement that the eight suspects were arrested on Tuesday following an intelligence-led operation by police operatives.

“Tactical operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested eight suspects involved in several cult-related killings within Yaba College of Technology and its environs in an intelligence-led operation, which took place on April 29, 2025,” the statement read in part.

Hundeyin identified the eight suspects as Adeyemo Abdulsamad, aka Cloud, Afeez Enitan, Ayomide Daniel, Olamilekan Adeagbo, aka Skinny, Mayor Samson, Basit Ishola, Quadri Sikiru, and Mariam Salihu.

The eight suspects consist of seven males and one female, all between the ages of 20 and 30.

One Beretta pistol, four 9mm ammunition, one cartridge, two battle axes, and two cutlasses were recovered from the suspects during the operation.

Hundeyin further noted that investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of their involvement in the crime for which they were accused.

“Investigation is still in progress to unravel the full extent of the suspects’ involvement in cult-related activities. Members of the public are assured that the suspects will be made to face the full wrath of the law.” (The Guardian: Text, Excluding Headline)
