Two CJTF killed in ISWAP ambush in Gwoza




At least Two members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State were killed in an ambush by suspected ISWAP terrorists on April 26, 2025.

It was gathered that the attack occurred at about 0530hrs along the Pulka-Kirawa Road, where members of the CJTF and hunters were conducting routine patrols.

The assailants opened fire on the patrol team, injuring two CJTF members identified as Abba Aja, 25, and Shetima Abbaye, 35.

The Injured victims were evacuated to the General Hospital in Gwoza, but were confirmed dead upon arrival by the attending doctor.

The corpses were released to their families for burial in accordance with Islamic rites. (Zagazola)
