Spokesperson for the Presidency, Daniel Bwala
Presidential spokesperson, Daniel Bwala, has said former President Muhammadu Buhari insisted that a camera must be present to cover the recent meeting he had with members of an anti-Tinubu coalition.
Bwala said this after former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, paid a visit to Buhari at his residence in Kaduna.
Both politicians are part of the anti-Tinubu coalition seeking to unseat the President in 2027.
Though they stated that their visit to the former President was to pay Sallah homage to him, reports have it that it may not be unconnected to their 2027 ambition.
Reacting, Bwala said Buhari insisted on having a camera cover proceedings of the meeting to prevent El-Rufai from going public with claims that he has agreed to join him in the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
He shared on X, “They went to meet @MBuhari and it was reported that he insisted the meeting be held in or on camera so that Elrufai would not go and say Buhari is joining SDP and PDP
“Hard as they try, they are still struggling to convince Nigerians that they have any plan at all, needless alternative plan.” (The Guardian)
