Labour Party LP gubernatorial candidate in Anambra State, John Nwosu
By PAMELA EBOH, Awka
A frontline governorship aspirant of the Labour Party (LP) for the November 8 gubernatorial election in Anambra State, John Nwosu has dismissed rumors making the rounds that he has stepped down for a fellow aspirant, Chief George Moghalu, describing it as mischievous fake news.
This was contained in a statement by the Director General of Nwosu’s campaign organisation, Chief Ben Chuks Nwosu and made available to journalists in Awka.
The statement reads in part: “The attention of the John Chuma Nwosu Campaign Organisation has been drawn to the scurrilous rumour making the rounds that John C. Nwosu, the leading Labour Aspirant for the 2025 Governorship has stepped down for Chief George Moghalu, another LP aspirant.
“This is a lie of enormous proportion. John Nwosu has returned has Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to the Labour Party National Secretariat in Abuja. He is very much in the race.
“John Chuma Nwosu is set for the 5 April, 2025 party primaries. The Labour Party delegates will decide who will be the party candidate. Party nomination cannot be won through lies, subterfuge and mischievous fake news.”
Nwosu urged party faithful to disregard such distractive misinformation.
