Governor Soludo

Governor Chukwuma Soludo's efforts to revamp Okpoko in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State known as the biggest notorious slum in the state have earned him praise from unexpected quarters, including supporters of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
This followed the tour of facilities built by Soludo’s administration by the late Ifeanyi Ubah political and media family on Saturday.
The team led by its leader, Kamen Chuks Ogbonna, toured the revamped Okpoko community and commended the Governor for fulfilling his promise to transform Okpoko into a livable community.
Okpoko community before now was plagued by poverty, neglect, and infrastructure decay, but the government of Soludo apart from fro. Clearing the huge filth in the community, also revitalized it with modern amenities which include general hospital, improved roads, and enhanced security.
During the tour, residents, especially children, gathered en masse to express their gratitude to Governor Soludo, chanting, “Solution is here!”
A 21-year-old resident, Sylverleen Uche, hailed Soludo for providing a general hospital, electricity, and a network of roads.
On his part, the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Chukwuma Agbodike, recalled that the hospital site was once a refuse dump and swamp.
According to him, the hospital offers free antenatal, children’s treatment services and also operates 24/7 due to a combination of electricity and solar power.
The team wrapped up their five-day tour of Soludo’s projects with a visit to the drug market construction site at Oba in Idemili South Local Government Area of the state which is under construction.
This market is part of Soludo’s efforts to relocate the renowned Onitsha Head Bridge Drug Market to Oba, a project aimed at creating a modern international drug market
