Anthony Joshua successfully defends IBF title, defeats Dominic Breazeale

International Boxing Federation (IBF) heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua added another record to his boxing cap Saturday night, after successfully defended his IBF belt against Dominic Breazeale in their championship bout at the O2 Arena, in London.

With this Victory, Joshua, 26, who has not been beaten now has a record (17-0, 17 KO).

Although, it was not an easy ride for the Briton who in the course of the fight met a brick wall in Dominic Breazeale (17-1) but stopped the American at the seventh round.

Joshua set the tone of the bout with early punches and Breazeale was caught off balance, stumbling in the second round.

In the preceding round, Joshua tried to use his pace to get the better of his opponent, landing good shots as Breazeale used his size and strength to hold the 26-year-old while he regained composure.

Breazeale could not cope with Joshua’s speed and the Englishman used that to his advantage when he landed a good, quick combination at the end of the fourth.

It was only the second time in his professional career that Joshua has been taken beyond the three-round mark and tempers nearly spilled over as the duo exchanged words after the fifth round.

As the bout entered round number seven, Joshua floored his opponent, who got up but he was soon back on the canvas as Joshua smelled blood and saw off his opponent, much to the delight of the thousands inside the arena.
