The Super Eagles of Nigeria were on Friday placed alongside Algeria, Cameroon and Zambia in Group B for the Africa Zone Qualification Round 3 of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
This was the outcome of the draw held at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Cairo, Egypt.
Analysts immediately dubbed the group the zone of death in view of the reputation of the teams.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the finals are scheduled to hold in Russia.
The pairing shows that the Super Eagles face an uphill task, as all the three sides are among the continent’s best sides.
In the other pairings, Tunisia, Libya, Congo DR and Guinea were drawn in Group A.
Group C has Gabon, Mali, Cote d’Ivoire and Morocco, while Group D has Senegal, South Africa, Burkina Faso and Cape Verde.
Group E has Ghana, Egypt, Congo and Uganda.
