The Benue State government has declared its support for the Federal Government?s controversial Tax Reform Bill currently before the National Assembly.

In an interview in Makurdi, the state?s Commissioner for Finance, Budget, and Economic Planning, Mr. Michael Oglegba, expressed the state?s backing for the Federal Government?s effort to enhance revenue through taxation.

Oglegba stated, ?The Tax Reform Bill is largely a good bill. We support the effort of the Federal Government to grow tax revenues.?

This support comes amid opposition from several Northern states against the passage of the bill in the National Assembly. (Vanguard)
