The Chadian Defense and Security Forces said it killed 96 Boko Haram elements, while unfortunately; it lost 15 of its personnel in a fierce battle with terrorists in the Lake Chad region.

The Chadian Army spokesperson, General Issakha Acheikh said in a statement on Sunday, November 10, that 11 other terrorists were wounded in the confrontation.

He said “The forces also recovered 107 individual weapons and three collective weapons from the militants, along with destroying six canoes used by the group for movement and attacks.

“On the side of the Chadian Defense and Security Forces, 15 soldiers tragically lost their lives on the ‘Field of Honor’, while 32 others sustained injuries and have since been evacuated to Ndjamena for urgent medical care”.

It was reported last month in October that the Deputy Director General of Communications, Presidency of the Republic of Chad, Madame Halime Assadya Ali confirmed that some assailants attacked a Base of the Defense and Security Forces in Barkaram, which left about 40 soldiers dead.

Barkaram is an island located west of Ngouboua in the department of Kaya, Lac province.

But in a swift reaction, the Chadian forces launched a deadly retaliation that led to the latest casualties. (Vanguard)
