   List of four Nigerians that won in US, Australian elections

Oye Owolewa, Chiaka Barry, Segun Adeyina, and Yemi Mobolade




The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has extended its congratulations to four Nigerians who recently won elections in the United States and Australia.

These individuals, Oye Owolewa, Chiaka Barry, Segun Adeyina, and Yemi Mobolade, achieved milestones across various positions in their respective places of residence.

In a statement signed by NiDCOM’s Director of Media, Public Relations, and Protocols, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, NiDCOM Chairperson Abike Dabiri-Erewa applauded their victories, hailing their achievements as historic and inspiring for Nigerians at home and abroad.

Dr. Oye Owolewa: Re-elected as Shadow Representative for the District of Columbia under the Democratic Party, Dr. Owolewa is a pharmacist and community leader.

He expressed gratitude to his supporters for their trust in his leadership.

Chiaka Barry: Elected to the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Legislative Assembly for the Ginninderra District under the Liberal Party, Barry brings expertise in legal affairs, legislative drafting, and community advocacy, along with experience in alternative dispute resolution.

Segun Adeyina: Re-elected as the State Representative for District 110 in Georgia, USA, Adeyina has an extensive background in IT project management, having worked for over 25 years with Fortune 500 companies, including General Motors and Hewlett Packard.

Yemi Mobolade: Elected as Mayor of Colorado Springs in 2023, Mobolade made history as the first Black mayor of the city.

A Nigerian-American businessman and politician, he is widely celebrated for his groundbreaking achievement.

Dabiri-Erewa praised their commitment and encouraged them to continue making a positive impact in their roles, offering prayers for their success and guidance in their new responsibilities. (Nigerian Tribune)
