Former Governor Umaru Tanko Almakura has expressed happiness over the smooth conduct local government elections across the state.

Al-Makura who gave the commendation immediately after casting his vote at Lungun Wambai Polling Unit of Gayam Electoral Ward of Lafia LGA.

He also described the election as one of the fairest in recent times where the electorate had conducted themselves in a civilised manner.

?I am very impressed with the electoral officials, security agencies as well as the electorates.

?I am also happy with all the political parties that had featured candidates in the election because the essence of politics is the periodic opportunity to elect their representatives,? he added.

Similarly, Aliyu Bello, Nasarawa State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who casted his vote at Remi Uku Polling Unit of Gayam Ward opinedthat the election was free, fair and credible.

Bello added that there was no rancour so far and everybody was performing his duty peaceful

The APC Chairman also expressed optimism of his party winning the election, given the quality of the candidates his party presented.
