Ebonyi state Governor, Rt Hon Francis Nwifuru has hailed the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) Awka, Anambra state, Professor Ifeanyichukwu Odoh.

Odoh who hailed from Ezza North Local Government Area of the state was appointed as the 7thVice Chancellor of the prestigious UNIZIK after the rigorous process of the Governing Board.

Nwifuru, in a statement made available in his official handle described Odoh?s emergence as a clear demonstration that hard work, integrity, and excellence would always be rewarded.

According to the statement, ?I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our dear son-erudite scholar and professor of note, Bernard Ifeanyichukwu Odoh, on his well-deserved appointment as the 7thVice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

?Prof., your remarkable achievement is a source of immense pride to us all, as a distinguished son of our state.

?Your emergence in this prestigious position reflects not only your deep commitment to academic excellence, but also your unwavering dedication to the advancement of education and I am confident that under your visionary leadership, Nnamdi Azikiwe University will achieve even greater heights in research, teaching, innovations and Community service.

He emphasized that the new position would serve as an inspiration to the youths of the state demonstrating that hard work, integrity and excellence would always be rewarded and prayed for more wisdom, and strength as to pilot the challenging new assignment.

?The government of Ebonyi state pledges its support to your administration and remain committed to fostering education and development in all spheres, much as I pray that your tenure as Vice Chancellor will be marked by great achievements and legacies.

It would recall that Prof Ifeanyichukwu Odoh contested for the governorship position in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2023 general election against the incumbent Governor, Francis Nwifuru of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ebonyi state and emerged third position.
