The University of Benin has appointed a professor of Constitutional Law and Governance, Edoba Omoregie as the new Vice-Chancellor of the university.
Prof. Shaibu Umaru, Chairman of the Governing Council of the university announced the appointment on Friday in Benin.
Umaru said Omoregie emerged the 11thvice-chancellor of the university out of the 27 that applied for the coveted seat.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the new vice-chancellor, who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), would take over from the incumbent, Prof. Lillian Salami whose tenure ends on Dec 1.

He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1992 and conferred with the prestigious Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in 2021. (NAN)
