With less than 48 hours to the September 28 local government election, Anambra State Government has announced restriction of movement in the state on Saturday from the hours of 8am to 4pm.

This was contained in a press release by the state commissioner for information, Dr Law Mefor.

According to the Commissioner, the restriction is to ensure a seamless local government election in the state.

He said: ?Ndi Anambra are hereby informed that there is a movement restriction throughout Anambra state on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., as the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) requested.

?The restriction order is to ensure a peaceful and seamless exercise during the Anambra State Local Government Council Election.

?People not affected by this order are those on election duties and essential services; ANSIEC officials, electoral observers, accredited Journalists, ambulances responding to medical emergencies, firefighters, etc.

The Commissioner advised that in the interest of peace, everyone should comply fully with the order to avoid the wrath of the law.
