The Management of leading Nigerian airline, Air Peace, has confirmed that a crack was noticed on the windshield of a recent flight upon landing at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. It, however, dismissed that the windshield was shattered.

?The windshield of the plane didn?t shatter upon landing,? the airline said in a statement issued Monday, September 23, 2024.

It explained that, ?What was observed by the pilot of the aircraft was a crack on the outer layer of the windshield which was immediately changed and the aircraft continued its routine flights.?

Air Peace described media reports of a shattered windshield as being ?completely wrong and unnecessarily sensationalised to draw traffic.?

?The flying public should disregard the report and continue to schedule their flights with Air Peace, which places the safety of its equipment and that of the passengers as its topmost priority,? the airline said.
