The United States Government this Tuesday afternoon, September 24, 2024 weighed in on the controversy surrounding the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, South-South Nigeria.

A statement by Richard Mills Jr., United States Ambassador to Nigeria, commended the peace currently prevailing in Edo State and urged its sustenance.

It urged ?all stakeholders, including INEC, to support established electoral processes and respect legal procedures to challenge results.?
