The UAE Public Prosecution, via its account on the X platform, delineated the penalties for insulting others or attributing facts that would render one subject to punishment or contempt via an information network, information technology means, or information system.
In a statement released by the Public Prosecution, it was declared that any individual found to have insulted another person or attributed to them an act that could result in their being subjected to punishment or contempt by others, through the use of an information network, information technology means or information system, shall be liable to a penalty of imprisonment and a fine of not less than Dhs250,000 and not more than Dhs500,000.
Alternatively, the individual may be subjected to one of these two penalties.
