The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris has promised to reconstruct the washed away bridges and roads in Suru and Maiyama Local Government areas in the state.

He made the pledge while inspecting the washed away bridge along Suru-Kawara-Dakingari road as well as some rice farms destroyed by the flood in Suru Local Government on Tuesday.

The governor reiterated the readiness of his administration to extend hands of fellowship to all manner of people across the state.

Gov. Idris said the state government would rehabilitate the bridges and reconstruct the roads, adding that the present administration would also continue to assist the farmers for effective food production in the state.

He assured that his administration would do everything possible to ensure food security in the state.

Also speaking, a member of the State House of Assembly representing Suru, Hon. Faruku Maisudan, APC chairmanship candidate of Suru, Mohd lawal and Village Head of Kawara, lauded Gov. Nasir Idris for his efforts in assisting farmers with the needed facilities.

The governor also inspected the washed away bridge along Jega Mayalo road in Maiyama local government area.

He was conducted round by the District Head of Mayalo, Malam Abubakar Marafa, where the governor assured them that the state government would rehabilitate the bridge.

Gov. Idris assured that his administration would do everything possible to assist the farmers.

The governor also inspected the washed away culvert along Diggi road, where the District Head of Diggi, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku-Diggi told the governor that the culvert was washed away as a result of heavy down pour.

Responding, the governor assured the people of the area that the state government would rehabilitated the culvert.

On the governor’s entourage were; the Deputy, Sen. Umar Abubakar-Tafida, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, former Kebbi state Governor Sa’idu Usman Nasamu-Dakingari, Head of Service, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba-Bena, and some members of the State Executive Council (SEC), among others.
