With barely one year to Anambra State Governorship election, no fewer than 42 support groups have formally endorsed the Labour Party (LP) candidate in the last Anambra State election, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, as the next governorship hopeful of Anambra State.

The endorsement was made by leaders and members of 46 diverse Obidient Support Groups, including the influential Big 6, in a statement made available to journalists on Thursday.

According to the support groups, they conducted a thorough evaluation of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration and found him wanting in several aspects of leadership and service delivery in Anambra State.

They reeled out Ozigbo’s remarkable achievements in the past including his tenure as President and Group CEO of Transcorp Plc, where he performed transformative projects and garnered international recognition.

The statement reads, “We stand firm in our endorsement of Valentine Ozigbo for the upcoming Anambra 2025 gubernatorial election. We believe he is the right leader to steer Anambra State towards a prosperous future.”

The Obidient Support Groups, a coalition of independent democratic activists, praised Ozigbo’s commitment to youth development, community building, and good governance, aligning with the values of the Obidient Movement.
