Gunmen killed a humanitarian worker Chris Terfa Akpu on Friday in Makurdi, Benue state capital .
Akpu was killed in his office along Catholic Youth Centre Church , Makurdi.
The Nation learnt the unidentified assailants shot him severally on the chestand he died at the spot before help could come.
One of his friends, who spoke to The Nation, on the condition of anonymity, said: “The gunmengained access into the office after shooting the securityguard on duty. They alsoforced one of the staff ,who led them into lateMr Ikpu office , wherehe was shot dead.”
Another friend of the deceased Stanley Chimin stated that he ” just returnedfrom officialengagement outside the state before he met his untimely dead.”
He saidhis body has been deposited at in the morgue at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital in Makurdi.
As at time of filing this report,the Benue Police command public Relations Officer, SP Sewuese Anene was yet to respond to messages sent across to her phone. (The Nation)
