The Nigerian Army has launched an investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of Col. BT Vandi (retd.) at the Defence Academy Base in Jos, Plateau State.

Sources at the 3 Division Headquarters confirmed the development to our correspondent in Jos on Thursday.

“Yes, we are aware of the death of the retired army officer. He lodged at the Defence Academy Base located along Vom road in Jos South Local Government Area on Sunday and he was found dead in the morning of the following day

His corpse was brought to 3 Div hospital.

“The way the retired officer died is somehow. So, the army authorities are investigating his death to establish what really happened,” the source stated.

When contacted on the incident, the spokesman for the Military Taskforce in charge of maintaining peace in Plateau State, Major Samson Zhakom, referred our correspondent to the acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, 3rd Division, Nigerian Army, Major Aliyu Danja,

However, when contacted, Danja promised to reach out to our correspondent on the matter.
