Innoson Motors expands operations, to site manufacturing plant in Rivers

In a move that smacks of a significant expansion of the companys operations in the South-South region of Nigeria,

The Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Innoson Chukwuma Ifedaso, CON, has revealed plans to establish a state-of-the-art vehicle manufacturing assembly in Rivers State.

The decision which is celebrated as a groundbreaking development, was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Rivers Legacy Projects Limited ably led by Ambassador Dagogo Fubara who successfully convinced Innoson to invest in the region.

Ambassador Fubara who expressed his delight at playing a pivotal role in securing this investment, highlighted the immense benefits it will bring to the people of Opobo Kingdom and the wider Rivers State community.

This development is expected to create numerous employment opportunities, enhance skills development, drive economic growth, and attract further investments to the region, he stated.

In a landmark announcement, Dr. Innocent Chukwuma, Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company, emphasized the strategic importance of Opobo Kingdoms location and its rich history. He noted that establishing the manufacturing facility aligns perfectly with the companys mission to promote local industry and drive socio-economic growth nationwide.

This groundbreaking development is poised to elevate the social and economic standards in Opobo Kingdom and neighboring communities in Andoni and Ogoni in Rivers State, said Dr. Chukwuma. We look forward to the successful takeoff of this major investment.

The new facility is expected to bring substantial economic benefits to the region, fostering an environment of industrial growth and innovation. The establishment of this plant is a significant step in boosting local manufacturing capabilities and underscores Innosons commitment to supporting the Nigerian economy.

Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Limited in a letter of proposal sent to the Rivers state government, said it first considered the state for its South South headquarters, before it finally arrived at Opobo, after series of meetings, conviction and persuasion from the management and board of Rivers Legacy Projects Limited, led by Ambassador Fubara.

Expressing its readiness to commence construction of the giant motor manufacturing plant in Opobo, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Limited in a letter to the Rivers state government, noted that the establishment of the company will no doubt raise the social and economic bar in Opobo kingdom in particular and Rivers state in general.

The company emphasized that the establishment of the company will benefit the community and Rivers state in areas of employment creations, skill development, economic growth, community development, revenue generation as well as attraction of further investment and industrialization drive.

Opobo kingdom with its rich historical significant and strategic location presents an ideal environment for expansion plan. Establishing a manufacturing facility in this area aligns perfectly with our mission to promote local industry, create employment opportunities and drive socio economic growth across the nation

We have conducted a preliminary assessment and are convinced that Opobo kingdom offers numerous advantages for our operation and the establishment of our manufacturing facility. Opobo will yield significant benefit to both the local communities and Rivers state government. (The Authority)
