FCT Minister Nyesom Wike
The campaign director of Atiku/Lado in Katsina State during the 2023 general elections, Dr Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa, has said the lingering crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), both at national and states level was lately fuelled by the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike.
Dr Inuwa said this at a stakeholders’ meeting in Katsina where issues pertaining to the party’s crisis in the state were discussed.
Recall that some stakeholders in Katsina have accused a faction led by the 2023 governorship candidate, Yakubu Lado Danmarke, with the backing of the state caretaker committee appointed by the national working committee, of concealing the party Congresses forms.
The meeting discussed how the congress forms collected from Abuja were being distributed clandestinely as “only one man is seeking to control the entire state structure of the party”.
“It is a common knowledge that both Wike and Ortom have declared that they have no presidential candidate to support in the 2027 elections but they endorsed President Tinubu.
“Their main aim was not to win election but to weaken the party (PDP) ahead of the 2027 election in favour of President Tinubu and that is why they are using stooges in the state to fulfil their mission,” he said.
The meeting, whichh was chaired by a former national secretary of the PDP, Sen. Umar Ibrahim Tsauri, has vowed to do anything possible to salvage the party in Katsina before the upcoming congresses.(Daily Trust: Text, Excluding Headline)
