Lightning struck and claimed the lives of at least two individuals in Issele-Azagba community, Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State.
The Incident happened amid a heavy downpour with thunder and lightning.
It was reported that 13 young people were playing football at the Osemeke Primary School field in the community when the incident occurred.
It was gathered that one of the victims operates a Point of Sale (POS) service in the community.
One of the individuals who survived the lightning strike, identified as Sunday, is reportedly in critical condition and has been admitted to a hospital in Asaba.
The state police spokesman, Mr. Bright Edafe, could not confirm the incident, saying “We heard the rumor but it was not reported in any of our divisions.” (Daily Independent: Text, Excluding Headline)
