Anambra State Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, needs media support to continue to deliver good governance to Ndi Anambra.
The CEO Anambra Media Excellence Awards, Dr. Chuma-Odili Harris a.k.a Ogene Igbo, stated this while meeting with the leadership of the Anambra State League of Veteran Journalists in his country home, Ogbunike, on Saturday.
He described Soludo as a selfless leader who ventured into politics with the sole aim of salvaging the state and restore its lost glory.
“Governor Soludo is a selfless leader whose interest is to bail Ndi Anambra out of abject poverty. Within the last two years, the governor has spread infrastructural facilities across the 21 local government areas in the state. He has rejuvenated the hitherto moribund health and education sectors. He has also ensured regular payment of salaries of workers; both at the state and local government levels and pensioners in the state,” said Chuma-Odili, who recently founded the Soludo Independent Media Support (SIMS), the official media unveiling of will take place on July 16, 2024 at Double Bliss Hotel & Suites, Udoka Estate, Awka, Anambra State.
He noted that “Soludo’s respect and love for journalists has been clearly manifested in his support for the continuation of the biggest annual media event tagged Anambra Media Excellence Awards, AMEA.”
Calling on the people of the state to continue to support the programmes and activities of the State Government, Chuma-Odili assured them that Soludo would continue to provide good governance and prioritise the well-being of the downtrodden.
He urged journalists In the state to continue to educate the people of the state on the differences between the present administration and the past administrations in the state.
In his remarks, veteran journalist Ngozi Emedolibe thanked Chuma-Odili for establishing an independent media support group known as Soludo Independent Media Support (SIMS), noting that it would help “to galvanise media support for the hardworking governor.” He thanked Governor Soludo for his support for the journalists in the state.
