As the Director General of The Ighodalo Movement for Edo People (TIME), I am compelled to respond to the misleading article by Abel Enaholo, “Asue Ighidalo Disgraced In AAU”. The article contains factual errors and attempts to tarnish the reputation of our candidate, Barr. Asue Akintude Ighodalo.

Currently, Ighodalo is in the UK, attending programmes organized by PDP supporters in the diaspora. These overseas programmes were planned before his trip, and could not have been scheduled along with “Ighodalo Storms University Arenas” wherein, awareness is being carried out in AAU.

Ighodalo is known for his support among students and youth, and he will certainly be present at programmes organized for them. The Students and Youth wing of the Edo State PDP Campaign Council is planning a “Storm the University Arenas” programme, with awareness activities already ongoing. The pictures shown by Enaholo are from before the awareness programmes began in AAU. Awareness programmes are not the planned outing. We expect that graduates like Mr. Abel Enaholo will be better informed.

This is not the first time Enaholo has spread falsehoods. He previously claimed that a reception organized for Ighodalo in Uwesan Wards, Ward 2&3, Esan Central LGA was deserted, despite evidence of a well-attended event.

I urge the public to disregard Abel Enaholo’s false narrative and focus on the facts. Ighodalo remains committed to engaging with the youth and students of Edo State. Moreover, videos and pictures of the well attended awareness programmes would soon be in the public domain to further buttress our points against his lies, and social nuisance.
