Odinkalu and Ojukwu
The Anambra State governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has appointed Prof. Chidi Odinkalu as Pro-Chancellor/Chairman of the state-owned university, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University in Igbariam.
In a statement on Tuesday, Soludo’s Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, said the new Council, assembled with a focus on excellence, integrity and strategic leadership, will provide guidance and oversight for the continued growth and development of the state-owned university.
Also appointed a member of the council is Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu.
Both Odinkalu and Ojukwu served as chairman and secretary respectfully at the Anambra Truth, Peace and Justice Commission, set up by the governor, to unravel the circumstances behind insecurity in the South-East.
Other members of the council include Chief (Mrs) Ifeoma Ekwueme, Chief Christopher Ndubuisi and HRH Oranu Chris Chidume.
The statement read partly, “Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has approved the appointment of a Governing Council for Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Igbariam, Anambra State.
“The new Council, assembled with a focus on excellence, integrity and strategic leadership, will provide guidance and oversight for the continued growth and development of the state-owned university.
“The members of the new Council include the following Prof. Chidi Odinkalu (Pro-Chancellor/Chairman), other members are Chief (Mrs) Ifeoma Ekwueme, Amb. Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Chief Christopher Ndubuisi and HRH Oranu Chris Chidume,” the statement added. (The PUNCH)
