Six persons have been allegedly missing at Ebonyi-Benue boundary community in Ado Local Government Area of Benue State.

According to the community leader, Chief Okebili Nwoka, the six family members started missing on Saturday when they visited some Fulani herders stationed at the boundary community to buy burial cow for their late in-law, late Ogbuagu Ngbo of Nkaleke village..

Nwokwa named the victims to include: Mr Obinna Ajah, Aloysius Ajah, Titus Nwogha, Friday Nwuzu, Emeka Okwor, and Anthony Ibina who are both from Onuebor-Nomeh.

He narrated that the victims was escorted by one of the Fulani herders when they were going to the cow selling point, thereafter, there was a sudden delay on the way but all their phones were switched off.

He further explained that the victims have been traced to Akpurata village where they were suspected to had been ceased by Effium warlords who have been in communal crisis with Ezza people.

Speaking on phone, the Coordinator of Effium Development Centre, Hon Nwogbaga Ogbonna, who confirmed the incident, described the missing persons as his brothers.

He stated that the matter has been reported to Ado Local Government Police Headquarters.

According to him, through intelligence, two suspects have been arrested so far.

When contacted, the Ebonyi police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joshua Ukandu said the incident has not been reported to the command.

Also, the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Catherine Anene, when contacted, told News Express that she was in a noisy environment and requested for a text message. She couldn’t reply the text message sent to her phone at the time of filing the report.
