Ivo LG Chairman Emmanuel Ajah
By CHARLES IWUOHA
The Chairman of Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Mr. Emmanuel Ajah, has vowed to do everything at his disposal to arrest those behind the killing of the traditional ruler of Umuihe autonomous community, His Royal Highness Umazi lbo Ubani.
The monarch, Ubani was murdered on Friday in his palace at about 10pm by gunmen who invaded the community.
Ajah who decried the killing, said those behind the dastard act must be brought to book.
He described the slain King as a man of impeccable character who would be greatly missed.
“This our king was a very nice man, he was a man with a difference, he was an outstanding personality to reckon with.
“He was a man that says the truth without minding who is involved, he will look straight at you and tell you the right thing at any giving time. He was the secretary of traditional rulers council in Ebonyi South.
“I don’t know what happened, the only thing I know is that they had a communal crisis at Amanaeze and Amaekpu both from Omobo ward that had to do with land but the man stood with me and the Development Center Coordinators and we resolved it.
“The land Issue has lingered for years but I was able to dialogue with the people to bring permanent solution to it. But this one that somebody woke up in the morning and decides to kill a king, when such a thing happens in my place I don’t believe the town will remain.
“However the security agencies are seriously on the matter. Know that on my assumption of office, the first thing I did was to tackle insecurity in Ivo and fought it to a standstill. But this one I personally will not leave any stone unturned, we must get to the root of this,” he stated.
