The 13^thAfrikanwatch Network annual’s Lecture, award and induction will hold on May 18, 2024 in Lagos, under the Chairmanship of Sen. Anthony Adefuye. Hope Eghagha, a professor of English and Literary Studies, University of Lagos, will deliver the lecture titled, “Nigerian Politics of Today, The Quest For National Rebirth, Reclaiming The Identity of a Nation”. The event also will witness the unveiling of Afrikanwatch 8^thMemoir on critical issues of interest in the country.

President/Editor-in-Chief of news outfit, Mark Orgu, said in a statement that, “the event is geared towards brainstorming on how a nation can capitalize in her strength and strive again for transformation while upholding the values that brings about unity, peace and equity.”

He disclosed that the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, will deliver a special keynote address at the event. “Father of the day is Prof. Fola Lasisi, former Vice Chancellor, University of Uyo, while Major-General Victor Odeka (Rtd), Ex-Director, Army Finance and Account, is the distinguished guest of honour,” Orgu said.

According to him, “Ace journalist and columnist, Sam Omatseye, the Chairman, Editorial Board of the Nation Newspaper, will be honoured with a Lifetime Iconic Media Achievement Award, having proven his capacity as a media guru.

“Highlight of the event will include the induction of eminent Nigerians into the prestigious African Legendary Hall of Fame, (ALHF), they are, Sen.
