Transport & Business Express rebrands, now known as News Express

Your favourite online newspaper, Transport & Business Express, has been rebranded, with the name changed to News Express.

“We are happy to announce the rebranding of Nigeria’s fastest-growing online newspaper,” said the Publisher, Mr. Isaac Umunna, in a statement today in Lagos. “We have taken this step in keeping with the wishes of many of our stakeholders, including, of course, our readers, who have expressed a desire for us to assume a simpler and more generic name that accurately captures our brand of journalism,” Umunna added.

He also announced “The new voice of Nigeria” as the pay-off line of News Express, saying: “This accurately reflects the role we have assigned to ourselves, which is to serve as the voice of all Nigerians irrespective of their status, ethnic, religious or cultural affiliations. Besides, we shall speak up in defence of Nigeria whenever the opportunity presents itself.”

Umunna assured that News Express would “blaze a trail in proactive, 21st century reportage of events without fear or favour and without a mindset, but rather telling all stories as they break for the purposes of enlightening our readers and helping them to make sense of events as they unfold at a frenetic pace.”

The international award-winning journalist disclosed that the paper is available 24/7 at www.newsexpress.com and welcomed feedback as well as news tip-offs from readers via either phone or by e-mail. He also appealed for advert patronage “since this is a capital-intensive project that requires enormous resources to sustain.”

Umunna described www.newsexpress.com as “a double offering in the sense that it will continue to generously allocate space to our sister publication, the all-gloss Transport & Business Express magazine.”

“Work is in progress by our webmaster to rebrand the website and we expect this to be completed within a few days,” he added.
