Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, has congratulated Muslims for witnessing the new month of Ramadan and successfully ushering in the Ramadan fasting with a call for peaceful coexistence among citizens as well as urged for fervent prayers for leaders in the nation, despite the economic challenges.
In a press statement made available to journalists in Lafia on Monday by the Press Secretary to the Speaker Jibrin Gwamna quoted the Speaker describing the month as special and very significant among the Muslim communities hence the need to appreciate God for witnessing the holy month urging people to identify with each other during the period and beyond.
The Nasarawa State Number Three Citizen enjoined Muslims to use the holy month to pray fervently for leaders at all levels to succeed, pray for the State and the Country at large to overcome its emerging challenges.
Speaker Danladi Jatau also appealed to well to do individuals in the society to use the period and support the less privileged ones among them to enable them to observe the fasting with ease.
He admonished believers to adhere strictly to the ethics and guiding principles of the spiritual exercise to gain the rewards associated with it just as he enjoined Islamic scholars to use the period to preach peace, unity and togetherness among their followers to have an egalitarian society and for development to thrive.
