The Anambra State Urban Water Assets Holdings Corporation (ASUWAHC) has expressed its resolve to enhance water accessibility, quality, and reliability for the inhabitants of Awka, the state capital.

This was stated by Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Urban Water Assets Holdings Corporation, Mr Ejiofor Ikeobi on Friday while conducting an inspection of the ongoing rehabilitation work on the Aroma-Awka Urban water scheme.

He assured that residents of Awka will soon start drinking clean water.

While expressing satisfaction with the progress of work at the site, he hailed the contractors for the good job being done, adding that the rehabilitation project was aimed at revitalizing the water infrastructure in Awka and ensuring the delivery of clean and portable water supply to the residents.

He said: “this commitment aligns with the promise made by the State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s manifesto”.

“Remarkably, this facility had been abandoned for 16 years. Now, with the ongoing rehabilitation efforts, it is poised to regain its significance as a vital hub for water management in the region

“As the rehabilitation progresses, the vision of a revitalized urban water system draws closer, promising a brighter future for the community”.

Ikeobi also visited the old water cooperation headquarters located in Aroma, Awka.
