JAMB Registrar Ishaq Oloyede
Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has disclosed that it may record the highest number of candidates that would participate in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
JAMB spokesman, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, dropped the hint at an interaction session with the Education Correspondent in Abuja, on Friday, disclosing that JAMB is expecting the participation of little abovetwo million candidates in the 2024 UTME exercise.
He said that on average, over 100,000 candidates register for the UTME on daily basis since the commencement of the registration in January, but the figure has began to drop.
“So far, close to 1.8 million candidates have registered for the 2024 UTME as at Friday, and counting. We have few more days left to the deadline, and we expect that there would be ‘rush hour’ registration: he added.
He, however, confirmed that JAMB is making adequate arrangements toensure hitch-free UTME exercise starting from the mock UTME exercise.
Hethus encouraged candidates who are still interested in the 2024 UTME, and are yet to register to hurry up and complete their registration, hinting that JAMB was not considering extension of the registration window.(Daily Sun)
