Alhaji Bala Garba Tsanni, the chairman Batagarawa LGA has been remanded in prison custody by a Magistrate court over alleged murder, abduction and culpable homicide in Katsina.
The chairman and 11 others were arraigned before the court under section 59, 249 and 189 of the katsina penal code law.
They were accused of the alleged murder of the village head of Dabaibayawa, Late Alhaji Dikko Ahmed.
Abdulkarim A. Umar, the magistrate had earlier directed the police to produce the accused in court on the 25 January 2024.
The other 11 accused persons had been in prison custody for the past six months while the chairman was on bail throughout the period.
Producing the accused on Thursday before the court, the police said they have concluded investigation on the matter.
This however led the chief Magistrate to order for his remand in prison custody till the 7thof Match 2024. (Daily Independent)
