The Management of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology Wudil, said it imposed N3,000 fine on some students for polluting the campus environment.
They were said to have defecated at Block E Hostel and poured water at a restricted area.
The Dean, Students Affairs, Prof. Abdulqadir Dambazau, told newsmen in Wudil that henceforth students found violating the institution’s rules and regulations would be sanctioned.
He explained that the sanction was imposed on 10 of the 60 students in the block due to their inability to observe environmental rules and regulations of the institution.
Prof. Dambazau said that the female students were fond of defecating in the open space around the environment, while others bathed in the open.
“Whosoever violates such rules would be warned twice, and if it persists will be forced to pay N3,000 penalty.”
The student population is about 24,000 while the hostels have capacity for only 5,400 in the facilities. (NAN)
