Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Umar Shehu Nadada

The Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, has ordered the immediate deployment of police operatives and vigilante to take charge of areas bordering with the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The order was In reaction to the security challenges being experienced in the FCT, especially banditry and kidnaping.
A press statement issued on Wednesday by the state Police Public Relations officer (PPRO), DSP Ramhan Nansel, said the command and the sister security agencies have embarked on proactive steps to tackle any security breach in the state.
It disclosed that the CP has further tasked Area Commanders of New Karu, Keffi, and Nasarawa local government councils, as well as all Divisional Police Officers under them “to mobilise their personnel and vigilante, partner with the traditional rulers, community leaders and sister security agencies to be at alert in order to dominate their areas.” He however advised them “to be civil to members of the public, as no laxity and unprofessional conduct shall be tolerated.”
CP Nadada assured citizens of the state that the command is working assiduously geared toward the protection of lives and property of citizen, warning criminals to vacant the state or face the consequences.
He admonished residents to be vigilant and report suspicious activities or movement of individual or group to the relevant Authorities for prompt action.
