Properties worth millions of naira were on Monday destroyed in a fire outbreak at Ile Maigida, Edun road in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State

The fire disaster started about 11:00 O’clock in the morning and lasted for more than one hour.

The cause of the incident yet to be ascertained as some eyewitness account revealed the fire might be as a result of refuse burning in the compound or power surge.

Not less than forty houses were affected by the fire including a mosque as planks and furniture shops were not spared.

Officers and men of Kwara StateFire Service with the aid of other security agents were fully on ground putting out the fire as they called for reinforcement when ran out of water as at the time of filing this report.

Our Reporter also gathered that unfortunate fire outbreak collapsed traffic along Edun road, Opomalu Junction to Emir’s road as motorists were confronted with logjam.

Officials of Kwara State Emergency Management Agency have visited the place on a fact finding mission for quick intervention for the affected victims.
