Fulani leaders in Tilde Fulbe, Ladduga community in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna state yesterday confirmed that the Nigerian Army has begun investigation into the killing of 11 members of the community.

Recall that on 11^thJanuary Daily Trust reported how 11 decomposing corpses of Fulani from the community were discovered in a forest located near an area called “Crossing” within the local government area.

The bodies, Daily Trust on Sunday gathered, were identified by relatives and community members as those of the Fulani allegedly arrested by soldiers in the area at different times.

However, speaking to our correspondent yesterday, one of the Fulani leaders in the community, Ayuba Muhammad told our correspondent that the military police were in the area on Saturday.

According to him, “I can confirm to you that a Brigadier General from the military police arm of the army came to our community. He asked us many questions surrounding the incident. We also confirmed to him that we gave Daily Trust all the information they used to publish the report.”

He however noted that there was no intimidation from the soldiers.

Meanwhile, some right activists have called for an immediate investigation of the alleged killing of 11 Fulani men by some soldiers in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Barrister Muhammad Nura noted that the soldiers had no right to kill anybody without court order, calling for the probe of the military men involved in the killings. (Daily Trust: Text, Excluding Headline)
