Anambra governorship battle: Why I settled for Labour Party —Ifeanyi Ubah

Oil magnate and governorship aspirant, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, has explained why he settled for the Labour Party in his bid to succeed Mr. Peter Obi whose tenure as governor of Anambra State ends in March next year.

Speaking to reporters at his Nnewi country home over the weekend, Ubah said that the unsolved issues in the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) informed his decision to dump the party for Labour Party.

He also said that he chose Labour because it is the only party with human being as logo.

The Capital Oil owner stressed that he is in the race to win but is not desperate. He reeled out his programme for the state to include bursary for every tertiary school student, two weeks holiday abroad for civil servants, mini stadium in all the local government areas as well as a media cenrtr, a cargo airport in the north and four power plants of 500 mega watts put at the back of the river niger and another two at Omanbala region.

Others include agricultural revolution from the north, hyping of technical education, agency to cater for the aged as well building of more factories to create employment for the youths and creation of a network telecommunication system to network and connect with the village vigilantes.

“I’m a spiritual person and when you have a righteous leader people will rejoice,” Ubah said, adding: “I am hungry to make the Anambra people happy and make the state a place that can be compared to none in Nigeria. Accountability and transparency is my key. I will have no business with the security fund because I have achieved success in my life. I am simply hungry to see Anambrarians live a better life.”

He urged Anambrarians to align with the Labour Party and vote them massively at the local government elections to get the ball rolling.
