The Senate Deputy Chief Whip, Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi, has commenced the construction of Eze Sunday Oketa road and other adjoining roads at Orokeonuoha in Ebonyi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

The roads will be constructed on concrete pavements, according to the Senator.

Nwebonyi, who represents the industrious people of Ebonyi North Senatorial district at the Red Chamber, had during a courtesy visit on His Royal Highness Eze Sunday Oketa on December 17, 2023 promised to construct the road leading to his palace from the old Enugu- Abakaliki expressway, Ugwuachara axis to the adjoining bridge at the extreme end.

Senator Nwebonyi equally requested one of Chief Oketa’s sons to submit his CV for automatic employment at the Nigerian Navy Direct Service Course.

The monarch who received Senator Nwebonyi with much aplomb had commended him on his giant strides at the National Assembly and assured of his royal blessings and fatherly support always.

He recalled their longstanding cordial relationship and expressed gratitude for the road construction and employment of his son.

With the swift pace of work on the road, it is expected that the project will be delivered before the end of the Yuletide.
