Kwara State Fire Service has doused two intense fire outbreaks within seven hours at Tanke, in Ilorin South Local Government Area of the state.

The first Fire outbreak was reported at about ten minutes to six in the evening yesterday at Zion Overcomer opposite Duro Suleiman house, Tanke, Ilorin affecting seven out of seventeen shops in the building.

There was however no record of casualty while the cause of the fire was attributed to power surge with total estimated property Saved put at seventy nine point five million naira and total estimated property lost is nineteen point three million naira.

The second fire incident happened at half past one in the wee hours of today at Tanke Oke-Odo, Ilorin.

Upon arrival, firefighters effectively extinguished the fire that engulfed sixteen metal kiosks and affected seven shops, attributing the incident also to power surge.

In his reaction, Director, Kwara State Fire Service, Prince John Falade, urged the general public to be safety conscious and play safe always especially during this period.

Prince Falade charged them not to hesitate to call fire brigade on time whenever there is any emergency in their areas, as this would save lives and properties of people in the state.
