A truck driver identified as Johnson Samson reportedly slumped inside the cabin of his truck on Monday at Dangote Agro Sack Area, Dangote Cement Plant, Ibese, Ogun State.

Samson, who was a truck driver attached to Dangote Cement Transport at Ibese, was said to have been later confirmed dead by a doctor who attended to him.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the driver had earlier complained of illness to one of his colleagues, identified simply as Oharisi, and demanded that he take some rest.

Seeing how weak he was, the driver was advised to go and take some rest inside his truck, which was parked at the agro sack of the factory in Ibese.

After observing that the driver had not returned several minutes later, concern grew among his colleagues, so they decided to send one other colleague to check up on him, where he was found unconscious inside the cabin of his truck.

After the discovery, our correspondent learnt that the colleague alerted others and rushed Samson to one Jaji Clinic, Dangote Ibese, where he was subsequently pronounced dead by the medical staff.

The spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent on Tuesday, said there was no suspicion of foul play after examining the body.

She stated, “The body was examined by our men. We didn’t discover any violence or foul play. The body has been deposited at the state hospital morgue for postmortem examination.” (The PUNCH: Text, Excluding Headline)
