Fresh information emerging from Sunday night attack at Porsche Nightclub Oba, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, shows that the club owner was kidnapped while seven persons were killed.

Recall that gunmen had invaded the club which is said to be popular in the area, killing some vigilante security operatives, some fun seekers, beheading one of the security operatives.

Contrary to earlier reports that the shooting was because of the resistance mounted by the security operatives, which stopped them from kidnapping the owner of the nightclub, fresh facts show that the owner, Chief Ebele Orji, was whisked away.

A Facebook user with the name Agumba Idemili wrote in his timeline that Orji was kidnapped.

Agumba Idemili wrote: “Pray for our brother. After heavy gunshots at his club for over one hour, and after killing so many people, he was kidnapped with some people. Pray for his safety.

“C.E.O Porche Club Ebele Orji is a good man, he doesn’t deserve such. May Chukwu Okike Abiama protect him. Fans pray for Oba. Oba is bleeding.”

Another Facebook user with the name Why Worry corroborated the claim, saying that his younger brother was among those taken, and that they were yet to hear from the kidnappers.

Though it is not yet clear the reason for the attack or those behind it, a government source who doesn’t want his name in print described it as a cult gang-related attack.

He said: “That area is prone to cult attacks. If it was a robbery-related attack, things would be stolen, but in this case, they just came to kill and kidnap.”

The State Police command had earlier confirmed the incident through the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Tochukwu Ikenga.

According to him, bodies of those killed have been recovered, and men deployed to the area.

He however added that no arrest had been made.
