A notorious kidnapper named Dogo Oro has been killed by local vigilantes in Tunga village in Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
Dogo was reported killed by vigilantes when he launched attacks with sporadic shooting at people with bows and arrows in one of the surrounding villages of Kanzanna on Friday.
The Director of Security, Cabinet Office, Birnin Kebbi, Abdulrahman Usman, revealed this to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Friday.
The suspected terrorist, according to the director, has been serially perpetrating terrorism in Bunza Local Government, particularly kidnapping innocent villagers and demanding ransom for their release.
“The security progress report indicated that today, 01/12/2023, from Tunga village in Tilli ward, Bunza local government, a notorious kidnapper called Dogo Oro, who was well known for terrorism in Bunza and Kalgo local government areas, was killed this morning by our men, the vigilantes at Tunga area.”
The Director of Security said that with the successful operation by the local vigilantes, the residents of the communities can now go about their normal business activities unhindered, with the security of their lives and properties guaranteed.
While applauding the gallant efforts of the vigilantes in supporting other security operatives, Usman also appreciated the unending support of Governor Nasir Idris in making sure that the security challenges being experienced in some council areas of the state are critically addressed.
He expressed that regular security meetings and regular logistical support for security personnel will be an utmost priority for all security agencies to address banditry and any form of criminality in the state. (Nigerian Tribune)
