The Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria (CIFCFIN), FCT Chapter, has embarked on a week-long fraud awareness campaign which kicked off on Sunday November 12, 2023 and would end by Saturday, November 18, 2023.

A statement by the Ag Registrar/Chief Executive Officer and the Chairman, FCT Chapter, Dr Isa Salifu, said the International Fraud Awareness Week #FRAUDWEEK has so far witnessed an “awareness walk” which he led, along with other officials of the group, beginning from the Forensics House, the Headquarters of the Institute. The walk held on Tuesday, November 14 in Gwarinpa, was to showcase the primary “dangers” of fraud to the collective existence of the society, organizations and communities.

Dr Salifu noted that fraud was a monster that must be tamed, adding that CIFCFIN was in the vanguard of the crusade.

According to the programme, there would be a seminar on Wednesday at the Audit House, where experts would speak on “fighting fraud.”

A World Press Conference to be addressed by the Pioneer President and Chairman of Council of the Institute, Dr I.B. Gashinbaki, would climax the week-long awareness activities. The Media event would centre on the need to sustain the fight against fraud for the betterment of our society.

The organisers emphasized on the need for Nigerians to “become fraud fighters” to ensure a better and egalitarian society.
