Heavy weights from across the globe have been lined up to attend the 2023 National Convention of Nsukka High School Old Boys Association, beginning from Friday, October 9, 2023, at the school premises.

Nsukka High School, formerly known as Anglican Grammar School, is reputed for producing eminent personalities in different fields of human endavour.

Speaking on the distinguished guests expected at the convention, as well as the programmes of events, Chairman of the Planning Committee, Prof. Osy Okanya,said that the Special Guest of Honour on the occasion would be the governor of Enugu State, Dr Peter Mbah, while Peter Obi would be the Dstinguished Guest of Honour.

According to him, the other dignitaries include the Senator representing Enugu North in the upper legislative chamber of the National Assembly, Okey Ezeah, who is an old boy of the school; Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Senator Representing Abia South, Hon. Dennis Agbo, member representing Udenu/Igbo-Eze North in the House of Representatives, the Vice Chancellor of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Prof.Charles Igwe, among others.

Speaking further, Prof. Okanya said that the Bishop of Nsukka Diocese, Anglican Communion, His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Aloysius Agbo, would also be present.

The Planning Committee Chairman said that the convention would begin on Friday, November 9 and end on Sunday, November 12.

He said that on the first day, there would be speeches, prize giving, novelty match and cocktail party.

According to him, there would be facility inspections, commissioning of projects, lectures and goodwill messages, while the last day would be thanksgiving service, group photographs, among other activities.

“It is going to be an eventful and very memorable national convention. We are expecting a mass turn out of the Old Boys and other lovers and well- wishers of Nsukka High School at the convention.

"There would be facility inspections and commissioning of projects that were executed by the old boys. There would also be lectures, speeches, goodwill messages, novelty football match between the Old Boys and staff of the school, as well as our memorial breakfast of akara and bread popularly known as susu,” Prof Okanya said.
