The Association of Kebbi Indigenes Resident in Kaduna State, have lauded the Federal Government of Nigeria over the recent release of the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), AbdulRasheed Bawa.

The Department of State Services had freed the embattled ex-Economic and Financial Crimes Commission boss, Abdulrasheed Bawa, after exactly 134 days spent in the custody of the secret police.

Bawa was arrested and detained by the DSS on June 14, 2023, following an invite over undisclosed reasons, after he visited President Bola Tinubu earlier on the same day.

The Chairman of the Association of Kebbi Indigenes Resident in Kaduna State Dr. Abubakar Abdullahi Gwandu in a statement jointly signed by the Secretary Mal Yusuf Usman Argungu on Thursday 2^ndNovember, 2023, stated that the release of their son; Bawa is a sign that the Tinubu’s administration promulgates fairness.

“We are appreciative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, especially on his fatherly role towards ensuring that the nation’s citizens are united. The release of our son is also a plus to his administration.”

The duo in the statement reiterated the support of Kebbi Indigenes Resident in Kaduna for Tinubu led administration, Kebbi state government and Kaduna, our host state government towards achieving its Renewed Hope Agenda.

The statement further stated that Nigerians should be their brothers keepers, especially in the face of the economic hardship, while also calling on the government at all levels to ensure that the spread of poverty amongst Nigerians are curtailed.

The statement therefore, urged the Kebbi indigenes in general to be more committed towards National development.
