A car-snatching syndicate has unleashed terror on residents of the D-Line axis ofPort Harcourt, Rivers State capital, killing a businessman identified as Rowland Asuru.

Asuru’s killing was said to have occurred two days after one Kalada Briggs was shot and his car snatched by the gang within the same area.

Asuru, who was said to have hailed from Ogbakiri Community in Emohua, was a car dealer before his untimely death

The victim was said to have been attacked on Tuesday night by some gunmen, who dragged him out of his car and shot him dead.

A source, who spoke in confidence, said after the shooting, sympathisers rushed him the Military Hospital, Port Harcourt, where he wasconfirmed dead.

The incidents reportedly sparked tension among the residents, who called in the state government and security agencies to stop the rampaging new car-snatching gang operating within the D-Line.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, a Superintendent of Police, could not confirm the killing of Asuru.(The Nation)
